I haven’t played D&D in a long time, but I always enjoy the maps.

My local art gallery has an exhibit of the work of Sci fi and Fantasy artist, Donato Giancola.
I did not know who he was but it turns out I seen his work on book covers and trading cards .
And one of the items on display is some of his D&D DM maps and notes with little drawings all over them .

It’s a beautiful bit of work and it’s very much the quintessential dungeon - including the very important (almost obligatory) quality for a D&D dungeon that none of it makes any sense as to how it all ended up there. You never want to think about that very much when going through these kinds of dungeons, though trying to come up with a backstory to explain how they came about would probably be hilariously tortured. (There’s probably a whole fun game/group activity to be had, just in that.)

I love the callback to the cover art for the AD&D Player’s Handbook
