I listened to it immediately, and the ending did leave me desperate to hear the next episode even if I’m not as engaged in the topic. No update about season 1. Next episode is the Taliban’s side of the events, I have to listen to that.
Mark - there is an additional podcast, called “Undisclosed: The State v Adnan Syed”, which is hosted by Rabia Chaudry, the attorney and former childhood next-door-neighbor of the accused, who’s private investigations into the case inspired Sarah Koenig to create Serial in the first place.
Rabia and her associates use Serial as their launching point, and go into deep detail of the case (they are fifteen episodes in now, and have just started talking about the prosecution’s case at trial), as well as providing regular updates of the state of Adnan Syed’s current appeal for a new trial.
