Cleveland was on track to open an elevated monorail, running down Euclid, the historic downtown main shopping corridor. The plan was stopped by the bankruptcy. The city planner at the time, Norm Krumholz, was running around trying to stop it. Fast forward a few decades and the city sold a Bus Rapid Transit system on the same path as the sure fire way to fix the city.
