This very much depends on what you mean by “after every use.” Cleaning during single-patient use does not need to be as thorough, since typically patients do not infect themselves. Cleaning between patients needs to be full disinfection; any hospital that fails to do so is going to very quickly lose its credentialling The Joint Commission does periodic surprise inspections of both actual conditions in patient care areas and disinfection validation paperwork.
My guess is that you haven’t done a multi-day stakeout of any hospital to actually observe whether they are doing disinfection of patient rooms between patients. I spend day after day in procedure areas as part of my work and every procedure room is disinfected by a team of specialized cleaners between procedures. It’s amazing how quickly they can turn a room - about 15 minutes or so - but that doesn’t mean its not thorough.
