As long as the relationship is mutual we shouldn’t judge.

Soviets produced all kinds of sweet animated weirdness. Here is some in musical form (the lyrics are all gibberish)

Related: “Chicken Pussy”

Kovalyov also worked in America for many years on series like Rugrats and Duckman; you can see the similarities in the animated style.

Yeah, you can see some of the the gobbledygook style of Rugrats animation here.

That said, the weird, trippy, absurd nature of the narrative kind of reminds me of Aeon Flux. There were things in the episodes that you were just supposed to roll with without understanding them.

But how are her earrings attached?

TIL where the idea behind those little car shaped record players got started.

MTV’s Liquid Television and (to a lesser extent) Nickelodeon’s Nicktoons were a gateway to the world of experimental animation (and a gateway for experimental animators to the world of actually having their stuff seen and getting a paycheck!).

Didn’t Cervantes write a story about a man whose wife slowly turned into a chicken? And he still loved his wife even as a chicken?
