That is what I’d like someday. Enough room for up to 4 player and a track ball. Light guns are nice too!

It seems to me this is an original creation and not a remake of an existing product? (I’m sure they would be enormously expensive collector’s items by now otherwise.)

I can recall around fifteen years ago when amateur attempts at MAME cabinets were quite the rage, with predictable results.

That was gonna be my question. “re-made”?? Ive never heard of such a cabinet before. (not that I know about this stuff, but google is failing me too)

thanks for that link. having a laugh at those DIY cabinets. When i was a kid in the early 80s this was my DIY arcade machine. (i just photoshopped this to illustrate because I have no photos)

Yeah, but I do wonder how he got the light guns to work on the modern flatscreen?

Seems to be something called the “AimTrak”, and appears to work on the same principle as the Wiimote (i.e. a sensor that detects a strip of LEDs).

Ahhhhhh, that would work! Probably much better than the original gun, too!

You know what? I like it, and you’ve done a nice job humanizing the ol’ slab o’ plastic that was the Atari 2600.
