This isn’t his first open water rodeo: according to The Guardian, Lecomte swam across the whole damn Atlantic Ocean back in 1998.

Interesting. I’d heard about this from (I think) four different mass-media sources, and had no idea there was any other motivation for the swim than swimming across the Pacific.
