I wonder if he’d get more lift if the buckets were mounted lower so that the prop wash went over the top rather than along the bottom?

Every time I’ve seen this pop up in recommended videos I thought it was viral marketing for KFC.

Is it really the bucket creating lift? It seems like the prop is doing most of the work and the buckets just function as gyroscopes to stabilize the plane.
Then again, I was only able to skim-watch the video.
