Time Warner Cable CEO Rob Marcus gets $92 million severance after 2.5 years on the job

I doubt that he did much work at all, beyond yelling at people to work faster, harder, and with less. And, just from that severance pay, he still made more money in a minute than his minimum wage employees did in an hour, even with the averaging across the entire day.

Jesus that seems like a lot of money. But then I looked and TWC makes nearly 2 BILLIONS in PROFIT. Holy shit. So I guess proportionately 92M isn’t that much.

Yeah, it’s amazing how much money one can make when one is effectively a monopoly and doesn’t have to spend the “profit” on things like better service, decent wages, or infrastructure. (note that purchasing Congresscritters and other politicians does not count as infrastructure).

Because more people want the other candidate.

I applaud your devotion, but it’s over. It’s been over for a month. Bernie’s not going to have the majority of pledged delegates going into the convention, and the superdelegates are not going to go against the popular vote.

Are you excluding weekends and holidays?

I read an amusing article about Comcast’s problems in dealing with the hundreds of municipal cable systems that they operate, each of which has its own set of rules. The sales people have no idea what these rules are for a given city, so they screw up a lot.

Yeah, economies of scale are really useful at this level. Said no employee ever.

Only $92 million? Loser.

The chairman and director of UnitedHealth Group, William McGuire, stepped down as CEO in 2006 due to his involvement in an employee stock options scandal. McGuire’s exit compensation was pegged at $1.1 Billion, the largest golden parachute in the history of corporate America

Not bad for resigning in disgrace. And that’s just one guy, if you’re wondering why America’s health care is so expensive.

Cute theory, bro.

Yup. With a Boaty McBoatload of supporting evidence too.

And this, kids, is why whenever I hear the word “CEO” I mentally replace it with the word “parasite”. What other purpose does a CEO serve other than to siphon as much of a company’s resources and capital towards himself?

Right, but, you know…

why?

I can only speak for myself, but I’m voting for her because she’s highly qualified, smart, capable, and has realistic policy goals that take into account the actual political conditions in Washington.

Also, while my own policy preferences are closer to Bernie’s, l have no confidence that he has any idea how to accomplish them. And if it were a closer question for me than it is, the misogyny and conspiracy-spinning among Bernie’s noisy online hordes would still tilt the balance in Hillary’s favor.

Why aren’t we electing Bernie Sanders, again?

Oh, yeah, because we’re so angry about silly things

today it’s 1768 to 1494.

If you weren’t nervous of the future, would you bother naysaying?

But yes, THE FIX has been in a while.

I say we can still fix THE FIX.

WOOF

any other demeaning turns of phrase to attempt to drop?

Just wondering, how do you like your crow prepared?

See ya at the convention, when neither one has managed to secure the nomination going in! You’ll love our passion then, RIGHT?
