One of our neighbors has one of these on a trellis. I’ve never seen one fully open because I’m not wandering around the neighborhood late at night or really early.
However, I have a couple cactus that do something similar - making flowers that bloom once and done. They are quite beautiful. In the morning when they get first sunlight, they also attract bees. Work glove for size reference on one of them.

I have a couple of dragonfruit cacti that have blooms like those; as a bonus, you get tasty cactus fruit!
