I’ve lived in less for a year or so. It’s quite a nice little thing is that. No reason you couldn’t have three interlinked; one bedroom, on living-space and one split bathroom/kitchen. Dependent on climate, but you could certainly live in that in the UK year-round. 3 of 'em is about a 1000’sq apartment.
Depends what city you live in…
Aye, be nicer if it wasn’t so burny, definitely.
I wouldn’t mind trying one out. I live in coastal Southern California (well… Pasadena isn’t quite on the coast), so the weather’s mild enough for me to put up with this kind of structure, long as I locate it in reasonable shade for this time of year in particular. I like it. I’m a bit surprised so many people are ragging on it. I grew up in a trailer park in the 70s, and I’ve seen how one of those mobile homes goes up in flame. Ya gotta be careful, is all.
In a major city, the land cost would get you.
And in a major city like Chicago, shoveling pathways between all three so you can go to the bathroom and kitchen all winter would add an additional burden.
This kind of thing is neat to look at and neat to think about. Maybe 1 in every 1000 off the wall ideas like this turn into something useful for everyone but the process of thinking about it is integral. I can’t tell you the hours I’ve spent looking at Tiny Houses (capped for emphasis, not a desire to push the particular brand) and trying to work out my own “jailbreak” or loophole to the rigors of modern American life.
Knock it if you want to. Or enjoy the look at another way of doing things.
