Before Trump was inaugurated I told people that he was a Nazi. All you had to do was look at the people he surrounded himself with. Right leaning people would say, “How can you say that?” or “He wouldn’t do anything that a Nazi would do.” Now it seems very clear.

I just can’t imagine what holocaust survivors must be thinking about all this.

This is horrible. Absolutely horrible.

Evil has no bottom.

If only this were about getting funding for mental healthcare, but we all know it’s not, it’s about feeding the prison industry, and about control: who defines “sanity”?

He’s clearly not serious about gun control.

Surprise.

So mentally ill people need to be locked up, but they should still have guns? That’s his position?

Oh wait, I forgot. Trump doesn’t have “positions.” He just says whatever he thinks will be most advantageous for him in the moment, regardless of whether it contradicts his previous statements or actions of, say, a few minutes earlier.

I suspect Stalin’s ghost could give some good advice on how to define this “mental illness” thingy Trump is talking about. Obviously anyone challenging Il Douche is dangerously unbalanced! (:face_vomiting:)

It’s only been 65 million years and you’re already asking for another?

He makes it easier for mentally ill people to get guns and easier to throw them in prison without due process to stop gun crime.

Just Republican Maximum Cruelty

In GOPland giving people free access to healthcare is socialism and depriving them of their firearms is an unconscionable assault on personal freedom, but depriving people of their freedom by institutionalizing them against their will is A-OK.

Would these be the institutions that Reagan shut down? because I hate Trump as much as the next socialist but if these are the institutions that Reagan closed. I don’t think it’s necessarily bad. Not that I trust Trump to do anything properly. Nor do I expect it to make mass shootings go away.

He’s talking of locking them up, but no word I’ve seen about treating them. Nor how they plan to identify “them” before they’ve shot someone.

As for starting with the “mentally ill,” there’s no reason the institutions can’t be expanded to contain other ”problem” people. Hopefully someone will keep an eye on their gas bill.

”I do want people to remember the word…”

I want people to remember what you’ve done.
