I get that this is what satire is supposed to do, but casting the Simpson family as Haitian was discomfiting.
I think that’s the most accurate illustration of #45 that I’ve ever seen!

Intentionally so, one would think.
They live in Springfield and they represent lower middle class White America.
But Flanders as a “Righteous Gentile” is surprisingly at odds with current Christian fundie infatuation with The Donvict.
I think it’s well established that Flanders was never that kind of Xtianist.
We see him struggling with his faith, we see him doing his best to live up to his faith, we see his doubts about whether he’s worthy or not, we see him do good works, we see him just trying to make a living while being the best person he can be, but what we never IIRC see him do is force his neighbours to obey the rules he tries to live by.
He’s an example that #NotAllChristians, not even the obviously devout ones.
Lisa as Anna Frank doesn’t bode well for them, indeed.
