Too much napping can lead to early death

I never used to nap. I do have high blood pressure and I had a mild heart attack a couple years ago. Now, largely because of the meds I’ve been on since the heart attack, I tend to nap a lot. Not on purpose. It’s just that if I sit down and become passive (like watching tv, for example) I’m falling asleep within 10 minutes.

Maybe if we stopped napping we will be forced to sleep at regular hours, thus leading to healthier lifestyle?

No, we go through life even more depleted during the day.

I thought I saw a study recently that said it’s more natural to take a siesta. The idea of 8 hours straight of sleep is something that was hoisted on us by the industrial revolution.
