I wonder how one sounds “rye”.
Is that when we try and guess how Holden Caulfield might sound?
I think it’s supposed to be ‘wry’ - as in witty or sarcastic.

I did a year of voiceover coaching, and ended up with a reel. I never pursued it, as I already had a career I couldn’t turn from, and…it’s super hard! Even if you have the voice to start with. But its fun!
Not exactly the same thing, but an acquaintance got invited to do a TED talk a while back, and to prepare he took a bunch of vocal coaching lessons. He didn’t want his accent or inflections to detract from his message.
It was cool hearing about his experience with it. Seems like it would be useful for anyone, not just voice actors.
And, agreed, voice acting is harder than it might seem!
