This sounds like a job for the internet. How about Towny McTownface?

As long as we don’t get Trumptown* or Qville

* not to be confused with Trumpton

How about ‘Asbestos-Free’?

I think they are completely missing an opportunity for sponsorship here. Just call up Phillip Morris and offer to name the town “Nicotine.” Problem Solved!

Mesa Thelioma?

I was going to suggest “Bestos.” Close enough sounding and spelled to make the change easily, but different enough to not have the old stigma.

Well logically, doesn’t Asbestos turn into Mesothelioma? Has a certain ring to it.

Wow, I clicked on the article title assuming it was a town in Colorado, which sports such geological town names as Gypsum, Agate, Basalt, Marble, and Leadville. I figured Asbestos, CO wasn’t a stretch. I hope those wacky Canadians get a name they can be proud of. Unlike the residents of No Name, CO.

Best town to twin with Centralia, PA.
