And into which many walk of their own accord. For example:
A rural area in Peru where you already know people sounds like a reasonable* plan for putting distance between yourself and the right-wingers if you’re not comfortable with urban life; a rural (or small-town, or exurban) area in the U.S., not so much. The Rugged Individualists in those places would probably lynch you as a Commie for suggesting they participate in a monthly community labour force (or, indeed, for suggesting there’s any such thing as a commons area).

I don’t understand why anyone still has hopes that the Democrats will roll back any of the GOP’s atrocities, let alone implement anthying that would be a move in the right direction. Given that they would actually manage to attain a position to do so.
