Trump the Chump (Part 2)

They deserve each other.

Also - why is Donnie looking at his penis?

One box doesnā€™t show a good preview, but thatā€™s a timeline of TFGā€™s Russian ties.

This really needs to be amplified. I canā€™t swear that all the research is accurate, but it certainly seems so and many of the major point I remember as well so Iā€™m going to assume this is mostly or completely accurate.

And it is scary as all get-out. I didnā€™t realize how many deaths itā€™s been so far, any time someone gets in between the plans of Trump and Russia.

This canā€™t be right. I donā€™t know how the numbers got fudged, but at #8, ā€œThe Trump International Hotel was the only Midwest location out of the top 25ā€ to make the cut for Tripadvisorā€™sTravelersā€™ Choice Best of the Best Luxury Hotels list.

Yeah, right.

There are at least 20 hotels within a mile of it that offer nicer accommodations, better service, equal or better ā€˜locationā€™, and more luxury in general. Heck, the Langham is right across the street in a Ludwig Mies van der Rohe building.

Something is fishy here.

These sort of awards are basically pay for play, and I find them pretty useless. Either that or itā€™s bot-city. Either way, GIGO.

Iā€™ve been to the Sixteen restaurant there in 2015 before you-know-who decided to run for President. It was really nice, truth be told.

I do like the London house right across the river. Great rooftop outdoor bar looking down onto Wacker.

I went to Sixteen shortly after it opened, and the staff was trained to be obsequious to customers who fit a certain profile and jerks to everyone else. At the point where the server was correcting the pronunciation of several of my friends, all from European countries who were pronouncing words from their actual languages, I was done. Then the poor construction of the building was particularly noticeable in the garage, which was utterly stupid in its design. Yes, the chef (at least then) was hired away from some major restaurant (I canā€™t remember the details now) but thatā€™s not enough. The entire rest of the experience was insulting.

I donā€™t mean to piss on your experience. If you had a good meal, thatā€™s great! Truly, Iā€™m happy for you. But thereā€™s no way thatā€™s the best hotel and/or restaurant experience in Chicago, or even just in the immediate area. As you say, London House has a rooftop bar too, overlooking the Chicago River as well.

If you ask me, there was this little French restaurant I remember going to with my parents once. Somewhere (I think) near but not on The Magnificent Mile at the bottom of an apartment building with a parking garage next door. There were tables right up to the front window, but there were half-curtains and people outside couldnā€™t see under the tables. I remember having rabbit.

Winners of the Travelersā€™ Choice Best of the Best awards were decided based on ā€œa high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinionsā€ over a 12-month period.

TripAdvisor has always had a problem with bots and fake reviews. Maybe a friend did him a favor?

Two possibilities come to mind: Chez Paul (no longer there) and Les Nomades (Ontario Street one block east of Michigan Avenue). I donā€™t remember a parking garage next to the first one, and there isnā€™t next to the second one. Here are images, in case they jog your memory:
