You could always pick Wilmington, Illinois. Will County shows up as green on that map (as do all of the other Chicago-area collar counties but not Cook County).
Then again, this particular Wilmington is a small, semi-rural town, about 50 miles or so from Chicago.

Back in the 1970s, my family camped in northern Wisconsin, sometimes at national forest campgrounds and other times at a rented YMCA camp hosting a gathering of my dad’s childhood friends. We’d go through the Menominee reservation on the way up there, via Shawano and Keshena on Highway 55 along the Wolf River. There was both grinding poverty and beautiful scenery going up through there.
That was long before casinos came on the scene. I have no idea if or how much things have changed. I hope it has been for the better.
The Y camp, on a small lake, was awesome - plenty of canoes and rowboats, a rope bridge across a small bay, diving boards, even a few small sailboats.
