Well, I felt it was assumed we were talking about normal people here because the argument being had is that “America doesn’t have services, but at least the taxes are low!” It’s misinformed common middle class (and even some poor) folk who make those arguments to me all the time.
Of course billionaires don’t pay taxes. They don’t pay taxes almost anywhere, in fact. There’s always ways around it. The US is a little worse perhaps than other places in this regard.
