A street cleaner dog has conquered the hearts of the citizens of East Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Ana is a spayed, vaccinated caramel mutt who is cared for by residents of the Boa Vista neighborhood, east of the capital of Minas Gerais. According to urban cleaning workers in the capital, the little dog met them every day before the workday and won their affection. Today she even has a uniform, similar to the one they wear every day, and accompanies them through the streets of the neighborhood.
“Since she hangs around with us so much, I thought of a way to identify her within the group. Especially because most people kicked her, hit her, because she was from the street. And, showing that she was ours, no one would touch her again I took an old work shirt of mine. I sewed it and made a street sweeper outfit for her”, explained Duda, one of the Garis, how the street cleaners are called in Brazil.
