Interesting. Iām wondering if perhaps thatās turtles using their literal strength by retracing their neck into their shell and putting their back into ramming the target. I could imagine how that could be both defensive and a form of developmental play for them. I say this as having once been the smaller siblin.

Iāve seen a pair of gopher turtles in the wild fight for dominance/(territory?). They would run towards each other as fast as they could and once they reached each other actually rear up on their hind legs and clash their shells together. And then slowly retreat so they could do it again. Unfortunately, I didnāt get any video.
