In a demonstration of the Baader-Meinhoff effect¹ I think I heard the name Pipistrelle Bats for the first time today, listening to a podcast mentioning them.

¹ I really hate that name for the phenomenon. Apart from it being one of those memey, internet pseudoscientific things (cf. also the Mandela effect) there’s also absolutely nothing obscure about the Baader-Meinhoff group for any German. Using it as a shorthand for something obscure is a bit like calling it the Charles Manson effect, or the IRA effect.
