When I upload from an image on my phone, they appear to me – and AFAIK the link looks normal – but they aren’t visible to others.
Nor to me when I view the post from desktop.

In firefox when I try to view the image by itself, it vomits up the excuse that the “image cannot be displayed because it has errors”
I just downloaded that photo. Windows Photo Viewer gives up and won’t display it. IrFanView throws a warning stating its extension is wrong and that it’s a webp file instead of JPG, but is able to display the photo just fine after changing the file extension.

Ditto (hadn’t tried that before).
I think this used to work from my phone, but I’m not sure.

Is this an image that you downloaded to your phone via save as, or it is a photo that was generated by the phone’s camera?
Images from the Internet can be screwed up.

Well I meant they can be corrupt, bad bytes. But that too.

Downloaded via browser and saved locally.
In the original post I re-downloaded the same image on my laptop and uploaded it successfully.
