I miss her writing (and thinking) so much. Iain M Banks too.
Now I’ve had to add Vernor Vinge to that list.

As a youngster I greatly enjoyed The Left Hand of Darkness, and the read actually improved my then bench presses in our basement. I would think of Estraven’s employment of his dothe – his strengthening energy – and I would inhale… then breathe out the word “dothe” on each press. Sounds kooky, but it worked for me! Hey. C’mon. I was a teenager.
