I went to a contents sale of an older house (the best kind of yard sale) two or three years ago, and saw a wooden box on the table. Inside was a hand-sized machine with a cloth-covered AC cord, and a variety of attachments that made it clear that it was a “personal massager” circa 1920. I’m half sorry and half relieved that I didn’t buy it.
