I mean, it isn’t much of a code. There is a letter in each box that is fairly easy to make out.
The Shadow employed codes and occasionally let the reader help decipher them.
There was a cover with faux kanji in one.
There is another one I am failing to find, that had stamps from various nations, the first letter of each nation spelled out something.
And then an actual cipher for one book.

I think it might actually be a very complex cipher obfuscated with plaintext english phrasing. After assigning each letter of the alphabet a numberic value (A=1, B=2, etc.) if you add up the sum of each line, and run it through a Caesar Cipher rotating the alphabet that sums value, you get the following:

WPCBT
YNMNB
SSMS!
Clearly an acronym for:
