I just read this article, and yeah, Wacom is hoovering up more info than is healthy. My guess? Some tech lead at Wacom wanted to proactively make crash logs from every device, or to see which apps are used most with the Wacom tablet so that they could figure out which macros they should make in the next version, but it still is creepy.
