I bet the guy in the cab of the crane was hurt.

I’m sure he got checked out once they pried his puckered asshole from the drivers seat.

Crane balancing is a mature technology; it is completely understood how to do it safely.

But there are politicians wanting to complete projects before their term ends, and managers wanting bonuses. These external pressures are likely the true cause of accidents like this.

This is why I cannot support nuclear power; it can probably be done safely if the operators have all the resources they need, but there is an instability of political will to do so. Ukraine is but one example. There is no way to insure for the risks with nuclear, so the financial as well as health risks get externalized onto the population.
