I am not bothered. But, I don’t want to think how many gecko skins worth of hangnails I’ve eaten…

Eating their own shed skin is the usual thing for these guys, I think. Lizards generally
shed their skin in small patches, and they eat sheds for nutrients and to rid themselves of parasites.
