The materials used here are pretty cool, but in what sense is this a ‘robot’ and not a ‘tool on the end of a stick’?
I immediately thought of the ongoing scourge of lionfish in the Caribbean Sea. A few hundred or thousand autonomous robots configured with this technology might be able to finally make make a dent in the lionfish population.
In robotics terms this is actually called an “end effector”.
You can’t really get major scientific funding bucks if you present it as a tool on the end of a stick. You need to proactive your paradigm to synergize your cloud-based innovative schemas, after all.
