Man, I thought those cranes were real expensive. Like bring in another crane to take the other cranes down.

What’s odd is this even happening. You see this sort of stuff in China and India with lax construction codes and shoddy work. I wonder if this was an honest mistake, contractors cutting corners, and/or corrupt officials looking the other way on code violations and safety measures.

I’m getting the impression that the people working on this project are totally inept.

There’s a hurricane coming. It takes days to erect a crane, and they don’t have the time.

Oppps wrong thread…

This passion for deregulation really is yeilding results! Collapsing bridges, planes falling out of the sky, and self-demolishing hotels.

Are we feeling the greatness yet?

They’re rockers. Hard rockers. Hard hat rockers. They rock and they roll. And they got to have explosions.

All of the above… One of the head building inspectors indicted for bribery, the contractor hiring unlicensed subs that became obvious after they showed up at the hospital, and a structure that well before collapse would violate much of the IBC.

And, as some unnamed journalistic entity looks into it, I’m sure there’s more to come !

…huh? Is this a joke? I don’t get it.

You are aware this took place in Louisiana, right? Basically on par with China for safety regulations.
