Their families back stories were both tragic and amazing, I think it should be required viewing for anybody that thinks it’s right to deny people to enter the United States, the absolute nightmares people are trying to escape. It definitely brought tears to my eyes

I’m not surprised. Given the small gene pool and endogamous tendency of Ashkenazi Jews, most of us look, genetically, like we are cousins of one sort or another. I’m descended from German Jews so even I might look like Larry David’s “cousin.” It would have been a lot more interesting if they dug up a shared ancestor.
