A number of years ago there were riots in Vancouver after they were knocked out of the playoffs. Numerous charges were laid months later as they went through all the video and photos to identify people.
I suspect that is how most of these insurrectionists will be charged. Unless of course they go for broke tonight and clash with the National Guard and open fire.

I guess she probably represents quite literally a lot boomers there, living in another era and refusing to be shown otherwise. Well, hopefully she’ll have to give up on dining out in her home state for the next six years. I like to imagine Jessica Fletcher smacking her across the face with a handbag and then ordering her out of the Cabot Cove diner.

Yeah. From outside this looked like the most clueless coup ever. They stormed the capitol, ushered in by law enforcement and… wandered around in their Nazi cosplay. And that’s it. No actual plan. The vote will be certified and they would do it elsewhere but for optics want to do it in the House.
But others will have seen just how it went down and the lack of consequences or serious resistance.
The beer hall putsch was a bunch of dress up thuggery that was shambolic and laughable. Couple of years later? In power.

Right? I mean, I don’t want to bomb or poison anyone, but if I was part of a demonstration with a goal of breaching a public building, I feel like I’d at least have an awesomely choreographed dance routine on tap to roll out and have recorded in the chambers.
Opportunity lost. Bigly. Add it to all the other losses.
