He also keeps repeatedly calling them ‘thugs’ which amuses me, since that term is usually used by bigots as a dog whistle for Black men… and it seems that most of the insurrectionists were uniformly lacking in melanin.

That’s what I’m hearing, too. They might 25th his ass tomorrow after taking care of the Electoral readout tonight. We can only hope that today was Trump’s final undoing. His crazed supporters won’t change, but it’s very possible they will be marginalized after this. And with them,Trump himself. He may very well have destroyed his future with the Republican party today.
