I have read that during WWII reconnaissance missions Mosquito pilots would occasionally return with a chimney pot in an engine air intake. One supposedly collected a human head in the same way.

I can guess what he actually did say, and it involved the pilot, his mother, and the plot of Oedipus Tyrannos.
(This common expression is also what Gorbachyev is supposed to have said to the coup leaders who tried to get him to support them. Years later one of them complained that Gorbachyev had used “Unparliamentary language.”)
