Somehow I don’t see West Coast surfers having the balls for this. Didn’t even know there were surfers in NJ but this seems like a fitting intro.

I see folks surfing on Lake Superior in early winter every once in a while and it makes me feel cold to my core.

and then go for a beer at the Jetty, is a thing crazy people do in the winter.
They grow a hearty stock out yonder in New Jersey, Exit 100B Garden State Parkway to be exact.

I did a rafting trip across Tasmania in mid-winter a few years ago.
Cracking the ice off your still-damp wetsuit each morning just before you put it on was not the most fun part of that trip.
