If there is a big renaissance fair near you, there will likely be someone there making these. it is even neater to watch in person.

Its mesmerising isnt it. Its much more difficult than it looks - I tried it. My mom makes some pretty cool candles though.
There is a whole town in India pretty well known for their handmade candles - Nainital. Its a must to collect some when you go a-touristing there. I remember I got a handmade rabbit candle once when I was a kid (I was 5 and obsessed with rabbits). I didnt allow anyone to burn it.

Those were great, I loved the colors and patterns, and I like wax as a medium. I haven’t thought about this type of candle in a very long time.
