Probably they are concerned that someone else will scoop their proprietary(?) blend of additives. That, or determine that it’s less healthy than real leather.

I think because it’s more like 50% plastic, instead of 100% plastic.

And leather would be 0.01% plastic, allowing for the microplastic that the cow ingested.
It’s not leather than, now is it? Just as white soy goop isn’t milk and pressed plant proteins aren’t meat.
I don’t mind vegans but I do mind charlatan companies that use veganism to mislabel their products.
