As for taking a perfectly cromulent film, that is most fun on the big screen, and optimizing it for a smart phone…

Whenever I’m filming video - or even taking a still picture for that matter - the first thing I do is ROTATE MY IPHONE 90 DEGREES HOW FUCKING DIFFICULT IS THAT JEBUS FUCKING CHRIST

… and, after all these years, how difficult could it be for manufacturers to make a phone camera that can record horizontal video even when the phone is held vertically :thinking:

… and there is nothing of consequence being shown in the top 1/3 or bottom 1/3 of all those scenes. What a coincidence, it’s almost as if they just used an AI image generator to fill in the extra space or something…

On the other hand, they are holding it remarkably still!

they kinda? more like “oh, look; its photoshop “ai”-autofill top/bottom on exclusivly static shots from the movie”…

sorry, I think its a pile of shit that has no purpose and exists only for clicks…

wanna see an actual, good movie filmed with iphone without being shot vertical as a useless gimmick?;

With AI, this will soon be an offered ‘feature’. (I’m a ‘nope’ on this one, thanks.)

But otherwise, that way madness lies.

If this was really shot on an iPhone, it would be in selfie mode and be like, “What up, chat! It’s your boy, S-Dog! I’m here at the all new Jurassic Park. Bro, no cap, I’m telling you they got live dinosaurs here. What? Look at this thing. Omg, it has to be like 2 school busses tall! And yo, chat, you will not believe how big their poop is. Or maybe it was my boy Malcolm after Taco Bell!”

“Is that child recording me?”

“And yoooo. If you come at feeding time, they feed the T-Rex live goats! R I P, you were the GOAT at being food. Anyway, chat, we’re going to go in and feed the baby dinosaurs. Don’t forget to smash that like button and hit subscribe!”

… recording portrait video and then using “AI” to fill out the sides may not be the most efficient way to build a landscape camera

what’s the difference? We need Ai to crop a video now - or did it do something more?

So the new hot idea is to do one level up from pan and scan; reformatting a widescreen picture to fit an old television screen, and instead make it fit an even narrower phone screen?

Why don’t they just cut all the action out? Just have a bunch of quick images of the Stars of the film acting like silent film actors showing exaggerated emotions…

I thought this sort of thing was more creative

the same channel popularied the super panavision 70 filter, which supposedly makes everything look like Ben Hur.
