I think that maths are the only formal human languages, so referring to the scientific parsing of non-scientific natural language can indeed inspire laugh.

True. I noticed the fudge in the quote (inescapable), but missed the ‘can be like.’ And, hey [quote]using ‘to be’ can be like the passive voice [/quote] is pretty awkward, so maybe E-Primeifying it would help.

I recall reading somewhere (probably from a linguist) that parsing natural languages is tricky because the modality of logic can change and even fork mid-sentence. I have no idea what this means, but it sounds squirrely.
