Don’t worry she’s friendly.
This is a flying squirrel
Bug Powder Dust?
If there’s an IR light for illumination, that could be pretty bright to a moth, perhaps?
there’s that time in 'journey to the centre of the earth circa 1959…
when the explorers are locked in a room… only to be confronted by a noisy quake…
okay…dow key
I agree, since people don’t see IR, they aren’t thinking about it, but you can see from the screenshot how lit up that back porch is in IR. For sure, that thing is attracted to the IR LED array on that camera.
Yes, but did everyone assume one of them was your dad?
Since she’s knows it’s not an ax murderer, why doesn’t she just go out her other door and take a flashlight and walk around the house and see what it is? She could even catch it with a net and transport it somewhere else. We all want to know! But I still think it’s a flying squirrel
My Little Pony levels of nominative determinism over there in the Sooner State…
I can’t believe no one had pointed out that the camera appears to be using infrared lights to illuminate the porch. Just removing the camera would probably solve the issue.
Hard disagree here. We get flying squirrels all summer, and the flying pattern in the video doesn’t track. Flying squirrels don’t flutter, they soar.
This, too. You can tell from the images there’s enough light to make the reflectors on the bikes glow.
In fact, I find it kind of funny that the homeowner turned off all her outside lights to try to scare this thing away. Leaving them on would probably help figure out what it is.
I’m left wondering about if there are lights from the street reflecting off her glass door.
Might I suggest, the humble tennis racket.
Somebody did. A couple of posts above your post.
Finally watched the news story. She had said the bangs were loud so she wedged a cushion between the storm door and the front door, and somehow was surprised that the thumps got louder?
Weird, ‘cause as we all know, moths hate skeletal remains.
