Not only that, but any CRT (even B&W) is going to have a very high voltage driving the anode, and some beefy charged-up capacitors packing a wallop.

Until this recent bout of unemployment, I was working for a couple of estate sale companies, clearing out entire houses of luxury crap. I would always lean in hard on families with kids, convincing them to take the giant CRT’s for free so that the kids could play their video/computer games without hogging the computer or the family room TV. It saved us from having to call for a ‘hazardous waste pickup’ for unfashionable electronics that still worked great.
