Me, too, on a '97 Camry and a '99 pickup. You have to laugh.
Read. The. Fucking. Article.
These aren’t legitimate debt collectors. These are racketeers buying people’s personal information and doctoring ledgers before selling them to thugs who are willing to resort to criminal threats to intimidate people into paying bogus debts. And guess what. Your own personal information had about a 50% chance of being compromised by the Equifax breach. If I were the vindictive sort I’d hope your smug self-righteous butt gets hammered by these sorts of scammers, but because I’m not I’ll just hope you find a enough sense of shame to stop writing broetry on the internet.
A good start would be to make such sales illegal. Would solve many different issues, actually.
A couple of things. Blaine’s “suicide” by jumping off a parking garage sounds pretty sketchy to me.
On a more general note, the hero of this story has a similar psychological make-up to the villain, he’s just not pure evil. Comparing himself to a movie hero like the one in Taken is apt. It’s kind of classic.
On another general note, the fact that these predatory loans, at the onset, are legal is crazy. Anyone in this kind of business is already well into a dark grey area to begin with, so it’s not much of a leap toward blatant criminality.
Your dog being shot?
He didn’t make the comparison. The reporter did.
My mistake.
Given that islam is basicaly judaism lite, with a nice Prophet Jesus… its no surprise.
Mohamed often paraphrased the bible.
Also mohamed was a merchant.
Today’s predatory lending practices are evil. And are morally repugnant to all the religions of the judeo/christian/islamic complex… as well as to everyone else
Yeah, I hit “like” on the post because it does a good job making a point, not because I actually like that the point is true.
Sometimes the world sucks.
Once, when we were moving out of a shared apartment, my roommate’s boyfriend discovered that she’d let us into the room he shared with her. In it, we found a bunch of stuff that had “gone missing” over the last few months. Including a double futon mattress. I guess he didn’t think we’d notice?
Anyway, when he came in and discovered we’d gone in the room and taken all our shit that he’d stolen back, he started yelling and screaming and threatening to kill me. I locked myself in my bedroom, and then in the en suite bathroom, and called 911.
They said they might be able to send someone in a few hours but it was graduation day so the police were very busy. Maybe they couldn’t hear him banging on the wall screaming that he was going to kill me?
I mean have you seen high schoolers? /s
