My medical surveillance was applied via a SD card in my CPAP machine. I could upload the stats (number of days/hours used, etc.) or take the card in to be read. Compliance was enforced through refusing to pay the insurer’s portion of the machine’s cost if I didn’t meet thresholds or didn’t provide data.
For reasons, I am kind of OK with this arrangement, but it still felt invasive and creepy.
EVAN: It also monitors your toilet visits and scans your retinas every 80 seconds.
MANNY: Why’s that?
EVAN: Just making sure you’re still you! Some people might call that invasive, but we like to think is shows we care, see ya later.
