The old people of today think of nothing but themselves . They have no reverence. They are impatient of all restraint. They talk as if they knew everything, and what passes for wisdom with us is foolishness with them

When I was starting grad school I can remember friends complaining about first year students, like not just how they handle school but general behaviour, in very much the kids today kind of way. It kind of took me aback. Like, these kids weren’t some product of a different era, they were three or four years apart from us. But apparently you put up lines between them and some people will squint at each other across them.
