Bringing this eminently reasonable measure back would take a lot of wind out of the fascists’ sails, especially in regard to voting rights issues. The GOP knows it and would fight it tooth and nail, but at this point I’d piss on a sparkplug if I thought it would help head off this disaster.
Yeah, but even an unreliable safe haven is better than staying in the US. We are actually seriously preparing for emigration, and this is definitely one of the reasons. I want to be like the lucky lucky folks who got the hell out of Germany in the early 1930’s.
