There’s an active effort by the far-right to claim the Yellow Vest as their thing. The antifascist hypervigilance of the left makes this really easy, because all they have to do is insert themselves into something and the left will recoil from that thing like it has the plague.

Most of the anarchists subreddits (real anarchists, not ayncaps) are happy to accept the movement as is and fight off the far-right who are trying to claim it for themselves.

And a lot of us think a revolution is a very, very bad idea.

Certainly (most) no one wants a violent overthrow of the status quo. At the same time, we urgently need to bring an end to the systems which have left us on the precipice of disaster.

History tells us the ball is in their court. We, after all, aren’t the ones with the nukes and tanks and murderbots.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable
