Your favorite cover songs

Oh, my, I do not like this one. So much twang that it made me angry to hear it. [Country music has enraged me since an early age, I hate it almost as much as I hate Steely Dan.]

Here’s a cover to revise my mood:

I phrased that badly. I do like the Lulu version (sorry) but it’s certainly not as good as either the original or the Nirvana cover, IMO, so, yeah, I didn’t really think that sentence through.

@IronEdithKidd I love Sleeper, but I had no idea that Statuesque was a cover. Who was the original?

Tori Amos did a whole album of reworked covers of songs originally sung by men. This is the title track.

Possibly in the category of covers that should not be, possibly genius… YMMV

This is a good version of that song, too…

This is one of my favorite Tori albums… just brilliant reinterpretations…

@1000YearBan I know that Gira hates the album that Can’t Find My Way Home is on (Burning World, isn’t it? I used to have it on tape back in the day!), but it’s just a bloody brilliant cover… just fucking beautiful!

This is such a fun medley to watch. The guys are great.

Elvis, Ricky Nelson, and Little Richard all in a rain storm.

A little earlier in the 70s.

Little Richard, Elvis, Elton John, Connie Francis, Be Bop A Lula

Queen+ Paul Rodgers does John Lennon

How about that time Aretha stepped in for Pavarotti when he was ill.

And Prince takes the cake here.
