XTC - All Along The Watchtower
@anon61221983 : Lingua Ignota - how come I’ve never heard of them? That’s some Good Goth Groove TM
.
and @Thomas_Muller - I love XTC, but this is a new weird one on me, so thanks.
Last shout out to @Jose_Kanusee - where do you keep finding all these little gems, man?
She’s great! My daughter introduced me to her, actually!
No shame in that, some kids actually have good musical taste.
edited to smile
She has broad tastes… she really surprises me sometimes. We listen to her playlist on the way to the train station in the mornings. She has lots of modern pop charlie XCX, Rina, Marina, etc, older women pop musicians (Kate Bush), some k-pop, anime soundtracks, Skinny Puppy (a family fav), modern alt-pop (mother mother, etc), and now and again, something unexpected pops up - once it was King Crimson, another time Hendrix, the other day Buffy Sainte-Marie… Crass once!
She was clearly raised well. It’s cool that she enjoys such a range of music but then, I don’t think I was ever stuck in one particular groove - I don’t really think any of us ever were. We may favour one genre, but there’s plenty to like across the spectrum.
I’ve never heard of Skinny Puppy - will correct that oversight immediately, thanks.
To stay on topic, here is an interesting cover of one of my favorite songs by the band:
It’s nothing like the original electro-industrial version, but quite excellent!
I just hear a song I like and I go to YouTube and see if anyone has done a decent cover. Also I follow YouTube performers that do a lot covers some of them I have posted previously. After awhile YouTube will start suggesting them to you.
For half a second, I thought someone had given you a reaction with 2 sheeps and then the possibilities seemed endless… then I realized you just put 2 sheeps on your post!
It’s Ewe 2!
I missed that until you pointed it out…
I can’t believe I missed that… thanks, @Jose_Kanusee! Fantastic!
Baa-Ram-Ewe, Baa-Ram-Ewe!
Well, if Weill songs are fair game (arguably standards rather than covers), then I’d like to share these two:
Chase Eagleson, Sierra Eagleson Cover James Taylor’s " Carolina in my Mind"
So YouTube just suggested this video to me…
Not Ewetube ?
This whole concert is awesome but the opening is the best disco cover ever.
Superstar was a cover.
Here’s the cover version followed by the original by the original singer and one of the writers. She’s singing for Leon Russell, the other writer.
Here’s Bonnie amazing the cast of Roseanne at the ending of one the shows.
I also love Eddie Money’s version.
